Abstract

Una Xinã Hiwea: the living library of the Huni Kui people is a virtual exhibition produced from dialogues and field research records in the Brazilian Amazon and was curated by the author and the teacher and botanist Isaka Huni Kui Mateus, in collaboration with the National Laboratory of Oral Materials (LANMO) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This article reflects on some of the works in this exhibition, especially the works Una Hiwea: The Living Book and Una Shubu Hiwea: The Living School Book by Payé Agostinho and Payé Dua Buse respectively, which provide theoretical, practical and aesthetic support for the formulation that the forest is a living library.
